What is Uber Eats? We explain the meal delivery service

The name Uber has long been a household name to most people. With Uber Eats, there is another division, but it does not deal with transporting people. We introduce the delivery service.

Simply have it delivered: Uber Eats is based on a familiar principle.

In times of pandemic, ordering food is more popular than ever. Services like Uber Eats can grow all the faster as a result.

Explained: What is Uber Eats?

Uber Eats is not (yet) active in Germany, but the principle can still be quickly explained, as it is the same as Lieferando, Deliveroo and Co. is:

• Customers can order food from restaurants that do not offer a delivery service themselves.
• For this, the restaurant must cooperate with Uber Eats.
• The drivers of Uber Eats then take over the transport of the food from the restaurant to the customer's home.
• The service is financed by a surcharge on the order. How high this is, depends on the location and the restaurant.

For the order there is a separate app for Android and iOS, but is also possible via the website in the browser. German users will not yet find options for their location; however, this could change soon.
