Restarting Synology - how to reboot your NAS
A NAS is a network attached storage (network attached storage) that you can use to store your movie collection, backup your data, or share files. However, sometimes it is necessary to reboot the NAS. To do this, simply use the user interface of your Synology.
How to reboot your Synology?
A Synology is a network attached storage that is connected to your network. You restart it easily through the user interface or manually.- Go to the user interface of the NAS by entering the IP of the NAS in your browser and pressing Enter.
- On the page that appears, log in with your user credentials (username and password).
- Click on the small icon with the person. You will find this in the upper right corner. Now a small menu should open with several drop-down options.
- Click on "Restart".
How to proceed manually
- Go to your device and press the power button until the blue LED starts blinking. Now the Synology will shut down.
- To restart the device, press the power button again. Be sure to wait a few minutes to make sure the NAS is completely shut down.
