EVERSPACE 2: Is there a multiplayer mode?

Because of the fast gameplay and the loot mechanics, EVERSPACE 2 is even called "space diablo". Ideal conditions for fun multiplayer sessions - at least in theory.

Only for solo players - for now? EVERSPACE 2 has launched without a multiplayer option.

Especially a co-op mode actually offers itself in games of this kind. However, resources are needed for the implementation.

EVERSPACE 2: No multiplayer mode in sight

Since EVERSPACE 2 was funded via Kickstarter, there were limits to the development:

• There is no multiplayer mode. From developer ROCKFISH Games there was also no announcement so far that such a mode would be in planning.
• The reason for this is the full focus on solo gameplay. This includes a story campaign of up to 20 hours, then the open world invites to quite a few more hours.
• EVERSPACE 2 is released in addition to the PC also for consoles, which means additional work.

Currently, it looks quite as if there will be no multiplayer mode in the future - at least nothing indicates it. Nevertheless, a little hope is allowed, because other games were only provided with a multiplayer option well after release, for example No Man's Sky via update.
