Broken TV - what's wrong?

If your TV turns off more often or doesn't turn on at all, you can assume that the device is broken. But this does not necessarily have to be so, possibly there is only a slight error. We explain here how to locate the cause and get your TV up and running again.

When is the TV really broken?

If your TV still turns on, it is usually not broken. However, if you have the problem that it switches off more often, then this can have various causes. Maybe the TV is too dirty or the power cord is damaged. The best thing to do is to try a new power cord and try a voltage protection power strip.
  1. If the TV no longer turns on at all and shows no other movement, there is usually something damaged inside the TV.
  2. Mostly one of the cheaper parts breaks first, which you then have to have replaced. Meanwhile, in some cities there are even repair shops that repair televisions and other electrical appliances completely free of charge. This is to counteract the production of waste.
  3. If you still have warranty on the device, you can also simply contact the manufacturer. It is best to send a letter by registered mail to their postal address and describe the problem. Sie können auch anrufen, allerdings haben Sie dann keinen Beweis, dass Sie den Schaden gemeldet haben.
