Install Sky Q - how to set up the new receiver

With Sky Q comes the new program from Sky, which you can receive online via your receiver. Since August, all old Sky customers should have a new Sky Q receiver. The update from Sky to Sky Q is usually performed automatically on your receiver.

How is Sky Q installed?

With Sky Q, Sky brings out some new services and features. In addition, there are new subscriptions. In the process, the sports subscriptions have become more expensive and the other subscriptions cheaper. Sky Q you can install as follows:

1. The update should normally be installed at night by itself. If this is not the case, you can also force it. Unfortunately, this procedure can also bring disadvantages.
2. To install the update, press the reset button on the back of your receiver for about five seconds. The device restarts and you will be offered the update to Sky Q.
3. After the update has run through, Sky on Demand and the Sky Store no longer work. So that the services run again, call Sky and have them unlocked again. This can take a few hours.

Should you get a new receiver from Sky, Sky Q is meanwhile already installed on it from the start. In this case, no update to Sky Q is necessary, but the setup is. To do this, connect the receiver to the power supply and to the TV via HDMI cable. Connect to the Internet and insert your smartcard.
