Sky receiver: recording programs - how it works

With a Sky receiver, you can not only watch the diverse Sky program of series, movies and sports, but also record it and watch it again later. How to record currently running programs and set up regular recordings, we explain in this article.

How to record broadcasts with your Sky receiver

If you own a Sky receiver, you can also record series and movies. This is possible legally and is not associated with any additional costs. For the recording of broadcasts to work, however, it is necessary that the receiver is connected to a Sky hard drive.

1. To record a program from the current program, simply press the red button on the remote control to start recording.
2. If, on the other hand, you want to record a program that will run later, this goes through the Sky program guide.
3. Navigate in this to the channel on which the program is running, select the appropriate program and press the "Rec button".
4. If you want to view a recorded program later, call it up in the menu under "Recordings" > "Archive".

How to record all episodes of a program

If you have a favorite series whose episodes you want to record again and again, your Sky receiver offers you the option to set up an automatic recording. To do this, open the Sky Guide and select the channel on which the series comes. As soon as you select an episode of the series to record, the Sky receiver automatically recognizes that it is a series and shows you the message "This is a series". Now just select the "Record all episodes" option to start recording the episodes automatically every time.
