Telegram: Delete contact - how to do it

Telegram is establishing itself as an increasingly popular alternative to WhatsApp. The app trumps with strong privacy protection and ease of use. If you want to remove any of the contacts from your contact list in Telegram, you can do so with a few simple steps.

How to delete a single contact on Telegram

Just as you delete chats on Telegram, you can also easily remove a person from the app's contact list.

1. Open Telegram and look for the contact you want to delete in the contact or chat list.
2. Now open the contact and tap on its profile picture.
3. There, click "Edit". After that, press the menu item "Delete Contact".
4. With another confirmation by clicking on "Delete Contact", the contact is permanently deleted from Telegram.

How to delete a contact on your smartphone

If you want to delete a contact not only in your Telegram account, but completely from your smartphone, proceed as follows:

1. Go to the contact list of your phone and search for the contact you want to delete.
2. Tap on the contact and within the detail view on more settings.
3. There you will find the option "Delete contact", which you confirm with a click.
