Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus: Memory full despite memory card

The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus can be expanded with a lot of additional memory out of the box. However, the amount of memory that can be installed is also limited. A maximum of 400 GB can be installed extra in the smartphone. When even this memory is completely filled, you are only left with external options like the cloud or backups.

What to do when the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus memory is full?

The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus already has 64 GB of internal memory by default. However, this was too little for many users. For this reason, a Titanium Gray variant was released in April 2018, which already has 256 GB of internal storage. If you have completely filled the internal as well as the installable storage (656 GB), you can resort to external media like the cloud or a PC, optimizing the storage usage can also help.

1. First, you should check which apps you really need. There may still be old apps installed that you don't even need anymore. Simply uninstall them by opening the settings and then continue to "Device Maintenance".
2. Now tap on "Storage" and select the applications at the bottom of the list.
3. In this list, you can also view other media such as photos or documents. Generally, you should look at all media and make sure you still need them.
4. Select the appropriate media and tap "Delete" at the top right.
5. Different cloud services also exist that you can use to store your content. Google Drive and Dropbox are two free variants where you just need to install the appropriate app.
