Android: Device has been reset - error message

With Android Lollipop, login protection was introduced on smartphones. If a device is reset, you have to log in with your Google account details. In itself, a good thing, as this way a thief has no chance to use the device registered under your account. But Google didn't tell users that.

Why is "Device has been reset" displayed?

Android has a lock that allows only those to use the phone under whose Google account thatelbige is also registered.
  1. If you see the message "The device is reset", it means that your smartphone has been reset either by yourself or remotely. In this case, you should have your Google account email and password ready.
  2. In some cases, you can also unlock the device using the screen lock again, if you have set it up.
  3. If the Android device was connected to multiple Google accounts, any of these accounts can be used to unlock the phone again.
  4. You will be shown the following text: "Confirm account: The device has been reset.
