Sky Q hard drive exchange - all info in the overview
To be able to store recordings, offline content and other media, the Sky Q receiver is equipped with an integrated hard drive. If you would like to replace the installed disk, for example, with a larger one or because of a defect, there are a few things to keep in mind.
Sky Q: Here's what you need to watch out for when replacing the hard drive
The hard drive of the Sky Q receiver can be removed quickly and easily, but not easily replaced with a third-party hard drive.- The reason for this is, among other things, the license agreements that Sky has made with the rights holders.
- In addition, according to Sky, an unauthorized exchange also voids the warranty claim for the Sky Q receiver.
- There is, however, an exception: If the defect of the integrated hard drive is determined with the help of customer service, you can send it in and receive a replacement plate in return. The new plate, which you receive from support, you may then of course install.
- Also note that it is not possible to transfer content from the old hard drive to another hard drive or the new replacement plate.
