iPad is not responding: What you can do
If your iPad stops responding, it does not necessarily have to be broken. There are several possible solutions to the various problems. Try them out first before taking your iPad to an expert.
What to do if your iPad is unresponsive?
If you haven't recently dropped your device or suffered water damage, you can often solve the problem yourself.- If the screen becomes unresponsive or completely black, the first thing you can do is force restart your device. You do this by first pressing the volume up button once, then the volume down button once, and finally holding down the power button until the Apple logo appears. For models that still have a Home button, press the Home and Standby buttons at the same time until your iPad reboots.
- If there is still nothing moving on your iPad, it could be deeply discharged. With iPad batteries, as with all batteries, it can happen that they are deeply discharged. You can easily remedy this by leaving your device plugged in for several hours. So the battery can charge enough energy to restart the iPad screen.
- If the iPad does not start on its own, the fault may also be the charging cable. Accordingly, try a different cable and check if the cable connector on your device is clean.
