Change LaTex font size - how to do it

To change the font size of a text in LaTex, you need the appropriate command. This depends on the particular size you want to use for formatting, and always refers to the section of text that is written after the command. Read how it works.

This is how font size changes are possible in LaTex

The word processing program LaTex is mainly used for creating scientific papers. In this case, the formatting of a created text is not done via the menu, but with the help of different commands. This also applies to the font size.

1. By default, a serif font of size 10 pt is used in Latex. Would you like to use a smaller or larger font size, there are, for the total of seven font sizes, each a separate command.
2. The command does not always have to be at the beginning of the sentence, but can also be inserted in the middle. Please note that the command then always refers to the following text section.
3. In addition to the command "normalsize" for the just mentioned default size of 10, there are also the sizes "tiny", "scriptsize", "footnotesize", "small", "large" and "huge".
4. To apply the font size for the next paragraph, please enter the command as follows: "\Size". Replace "size" thereby by the appropriate command.

How to change the font in LaTex

In addition to the possibility to change the size, the font can also be changed. With the corresponding command you can, in addition to the normal font, format the text in italics, highlighted, bold, serif or machine font. To do this, type the command "\textbf{font}" and replace "font" with "bold", "italic", "serif", "highlighted" or "machine font".
