Screen Sharing: Android - is it possible?

Splitting your screen on your Android smartphone allows you to view two apps at the same time. This new split-screen feature is available on devices that have Android 7.0 or later. To use the feature, both apps must be opened first.

Android: This is the benefit of screen splitting

Since the update to Android 7.0, the operating system has a split-screen feature that you can use for all apps on the device. This makes it possible for you to use two apps in parallel on your smartphone.

Split screen: How to use the split-screen function of Android

If you want to use the split-screen function on your smartphone, you must first open the apps that you want to display in parallel.
  1. Tap then on the overview button. You can find this at the bottom right of your smartphone's navigation bar.
  2. Now you need to tap and hold the first app until you see the phrase "Drag here to split the screen" in the status bar. Please follow the instruction.
  3. In the other half of the screen, you should now see an overview of the other apps that are currently active on your device. Now tap on the app you want to use for split screen.
  4. From Android 9.0, a menu will appear where you need to tap on the "Open in split screen view" option instead of a message. Then swipe left or right to select another app.
  5. You can change the size of the windows with the bar displayed in the middle of the screen. You can end the split-screen mode by dragging the bar to the top or bottom respectively.
