Teams: screen sharing - here's how to do it

Teams is part of Microsoft Office and allows you to hold conference calls or meetings via video call. Additionally, with Teams it is also possible to share the current content on your computer screen with other people. We'll show you exactly how this works here.

Teams: How to share your screen during a call

If you use Microsoft Teams to collaborate with your colleagues, you can use the program not only to hold meetings via video telephony. In addition, Teams also includes a feature that allows you to share your screen during a phone call.
  1. If you are using Teams on your Windows PC or laptop, to share your screen, please first press the screen sharing icon.
  2. Then select whether you want to share the entire screen or just a specific window. Sharing files on your computer is also possible in this way.
  3. To stop sharing the screen, either click "Transfer" again or simply end the entire video call.
  4. If you use Teams on your smartphone, tap the "three-dot icon" during a call and select "Screen" under "Share."

This is how you share your screen in a Teams chat

If all participants use the desktop version of Teams, you can also share your screen without making a call. To do this, first select a chat in Microsoft Teams before clicking on "Screen transfer". Now specify what you want to share and wait until your chat partner accepts the screen transfer request.
