Mac: Sign users in automatically - the options are there

When you use your Mac, you usually set up an account. If you don't want to sign in again every time you use it, you can set up automatic sign-in.

This is how your Mac automatically logs in a user at startup

If you don't want to log in every time you start your Mac, you can set an account that the Mac will automatically connect to. However, as soon as you log out or want to switch to another user account, you will have to log in manually again.
  1. Log in to your account and go to the menu by clicking on the Apple icon.
  2. Then select the "System Preferences" option and click on "Users & Groups".
  3. Here, click on the lock icon to log in with your account password. Then it is necessary to enter the name and password of the administrator. This step is not necessary if you are already logged in as admin.
  4. Go to "Login Option". Here, select an account in the "Automatic login" section and enter your account's password again.

This is what you can do if there are problems

If the "Automatic login" is hidden for you, you cannot set it up. Das kann unterschiedliche Gründe haben.
