Cancel Apple Music: How to do it via app and iTunes

You can cancel your subscription to Apple Music via the app or iTunes.

Cancel Apple Music via the app in iOS

Once you sign up for Apple Music, the three-month free trial subscription starts automatically. You can neither deactivate nor shorten this. If you do not want to continue using the streaming service after the free period, you must cancel the subscription in time. Via app it works as follows:

1. Open the settings, tap on your name and select "Subscriptions".
2. Tap on "Apple ID" and "Show Apple ID" and log in with your data.
3. Navigate to "Subscription" > "Apple Music Membership" and tap on the button "Cancel subscription" at the bottom.
4. Your subscription to Apple Music will then be terminated at the end of the billing period.

Cancel Apple Music via iTunes

When canceling with iTunes, please go to "Account" > "View My Account" in the menu and click "View Account". There, look for the "Settings" section and click "Manage" next to "Subscriptions". Now you can click "Edit" next to your Apple Music subscription and select the "Cancel subscription" option. Keep in mind that you need to disable auto-renewal at least 24 hours before it expires, otherwise the subscription will be extended by one month. If you use the family subscription for 14.99 euros per month instead of the normal subscription for 9.99 euros per month, the cancellation takes place in the same way.
