Arduino first steps - how to set up the OS

With an Arduino you can control various small motors or other devices. The mini-computer is designed for you to create circuits and solder around breadboards. But all beginnings are hard. While this is also true for the Arduino, the first steps are actually not that difficult.

What are the first steps with an Arduino?

First, you should choose a very small project. For example, you can make an LED light up for one second and then turn it off again.
  1. To do this, you will need an Arduino, an LED, a resistor, a USB connection cable and a breadboard.
  2. The first thing you need to do is build the circuit correctly. To do this, plug a black jumper cable into GND on the Arduino and the other end into the negative header of the breadboard.
  3. Now connect D13 and the positive header with a red jumper cable.
  4. Now take the LED and plug the longer pin into the a column of the board. The other side goes into the minus column of the breadboard.
  5. Use the 1 kiloohm resistor to prevent the LED from burning out. With this comes the long side in the plus column and the other side in the b column at the height of the LED positive side.
  6. Now you just have to program the Arduino. To do this, open the Arduino IDE and select the connected board. Jetzt schreiben Sie einen Code, der die LED blinken lässt und führen diesen aus.
