Creating a YouTube Channel: How easy are the first steps

Creating a YouTube channel is not particularly difficult. Basically, all you need is an email address with which to register. In the best case, you have already developed an idea for your name. But how do you go on with your channel now?

Create YouTube channel after signup

To start, you need to create an account on the YouTube video platform. To do this, navigate to the official YouTube website and go to "Sign Up" to register.

1. Once you have created an account, you can click on your profile picture on the homepage and go to "My Channel."
2. Click on the "Start Now" button and select an option for the name of your channel. Now you are on your own channel. This is not directly clear at first glance, because your channel has no content and settings yet.
3. If you want to add a channel image, realize this by clicking on "Add channel image". You can now select an image from your computer to upload. Pay attention to the specified dimensions.
4. By clicking on the gear next to the button labeled "Subscribe" you set further settings to your channel.
5. About the bottom of your channel you create new videos and can upload them.
6. You also have the option to create a channel trailer. However, for this you already need a few video uploads to cut a teaser out of it.
7. Last, customize your channel description so that other users can learn about you and your content.
