Terraria: Build Workbench - how to do it & why it's important

Building is a central element in Terraria and some objects are especially important. Among them is the workbench, which you should build as early as possible. We explain how to do it and why the workbench is a priority.

The workbench is your gateway to multiple building options in Terraria. It is therefore advisable not to lose any time.

Terraria: How to build a workbench

You should build the workbench already on the first day, if possible:

• Since the zombies appear at night, you need a first house right away anyway.
• In this turn, it is a good idea to build a workbench right away as well. This allows you namely the construction of other objects, first and foremost tables and chairs that you need so that an NPC moves in. Also the oven becomes possible with it.
• For the workbench you need only 10 wood. This is easy to get, because you can directly cut trees with the axe in the beginning.

We recommend to put the workbench in your first house or nearby, so you can quickly build advanced objects at any time.
