Enable automatic updates from iOS7: How to do it

Just like previous versions of Apple devices, you can enable automatic updates starting with iOS7. By updating regularly, you won't have to spend time doing manual updates.

Instructions for Enabling Automatic Updates: Starting with iOS 7

If you enable updates to happen automatically on your iPhone running iOS7, you won't have to worry about updating individual apps. Instead, your apps will always be up to date and ready to use.
  1. Take your iPhone or iPad with iOS7 or newer to hand.
  2. Open the settings on the device.
  3. Navigate to "iTunes & App Store".
  4. Here you will now find the "Automatic Downloads" section. Tap the slider next to "Updates" on the right, so that it slides to the right and is displayed in green.
  5. The automatic updates are now enabled. If an update is available and you have access to the Internet, your iPhone will download the data automatically.

Save data volume

Automatic updates are very convenient, but can also be annoying if you don't have a good Internet connection on the road or your entire data volume is used up quickly. To avoid this problem, you can set that the automatic updates should only be performed when the WLAN connection is active. No apps will then be updated on the road, but only at home when the connection is stable. For the setting, navigate to "Settings > Mobile network" and deactivate "Use mobile data".
