Windows 10: Delete WLAN profiles - how to do it

If you no longer use a WLAN profile stored on your Windows 10 computer, it makes sense to delete it from the computer for the sake of clarity. On computers running Windows 10, there are two methods for doing this.

How to delete WLAN profiles on Windows 10

If you have problems with your WLAN connection, it may help to delete it from your Windows 10 PC and then set it up again. Also, if you no longer use a particular WLAN profile, it is recommended to delete it. Under Windows 10 as well as on computers with older Windows versions, this is possible via the Run dialog.
  1. Therefore, first open the Run dialog by pressing the key combination of "Windows key" + "R" on your keyboard.
  2. Then enter the command "cmd" and confirm with "OK" to open the command prompt of your PC.
  3. After you have entered the command "netsh wlan show profiles" in the window that opens and confirmed with "Enter", you will be shown a list with all WLAN profiles.
  4. Search in here for the name of the WLAN profile to be deleted and remove it by executing the command "netsh wlan delete profile name= "WLAN profile name"".

This is another option offered by Windows 10

In addition to the method described above, there is another way to delete WLAN profiles in Windows 10. To use this, please click on "Settings" in the Start menu and then navigate to "Network and Internet" > "WLAN" > "Manage WLAN settings". There, look for the profile you want to delete, select it and click "Do not save" to remove the WLAN profile from the PC.
