Playstation 4: Memory full - how to make room
The Playstation 4's integrated memory is limited to 500 or 1,000 gigabytes, depending on the model. Once the memory is full, for example, no new games can be installed on the console. With just a few simple steps, however, you can free up the occupied storage space.
PS4: Memory full - what you can do
Current games consume more and more storage space. This leads to the fact that the hard drive of the Playstation 4 is quickly full. However, you can quickly create space again via the console's memory management by uninstalling games that you no longer use.- Open the Playstation's settings and switch to the "System Memory Management".
- Click on "Applications". There you will find an overview of all the applications and games installed on the console.
- Select the games that you no longer play and uninstall them.
Expand storage space - these are the options you have
If the Playstation 4's built-in storage space is full, you can easily expand it. All you need for this is an external hard drive. You can then connect this to the Playstation via the USB port. In order to use the disk, you must first format it.- Connect the hard drive to the Playstation 4 and open the settings.
- In the settings, go to the category "Devices" and select the item "USB storage devices".
- Then select the external disk and format it using the "Format as Extended Storage" function.
