The save bug is a bug that causes Valheim game saves to simply be deleted - completely and irreversibly.

Valheim: Safeguard against save bug with manual backup

As long as this bug exists and can theoretically affect anyone, you should take preventive measures. This can be done by simply saving your game state manually via backup.

1. Open the folder "\User\UserName\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim" on your Windows partition.
2. Copy this folder and save it additionally in another location.
3. Should the bug occur with you, fall back on the backup and paste it back into the folder shown above.

The more advanced you are in the game, the greater the loss if the memory bug strikes - so it makes more and more sense with increasing game duration to create a manual backup.By the way: Tend to the bug seems to occur especially when the game is terminated with "Alt" + "F4". By avoiding this combination, you consequently improve your chances.
