32 bit or 64 bit: What version is my Windows?

You want to install a new software or computer game? Then you need to know which version your Windows has in order to align the settings optimally. We'll show you how to find out which version your Windows system uses.

How to find out if your Windows has 32 bit or 64 bit?

Finding out which version is used by your Windows is not particularly difficult:
  1. First, you need to start your PC and then open the Control Panel. To do this, click on the Windows button.
  2. Now you can view the different categories and click here on "System and Security".
  3. Open the "System" tab and search the list of options until you find "System".
  4. Use a double-click to open the data.
  5. A window will now open with all the information that is available about your operating system in use. Scroll down until you can see which version of Windows you are using.
  6. You can find the information in the "System Type" section.

What can you do with the information?

Many software vendors allow their customers to buy a program in different versions. In order for the software's settings to harmonize with your operating system, you must have this knowledge. If you use the wrong software solution, the program may not open or there may be an incorrect display.
