Windows 10: Switch from 32-bit to 64-bit version
The Windows 10 operating system comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Which version is right for you depends on your hardware architecture. If you have the 32-bit version installed, then you can switch to the 64-bit, but only if your hardware allows you to do so.
How to switch from 32-bit to 64-bit version of Windows 10
With a 64-bit hardware architecture, you can easily use the 32-bit version of Windows 10. However, this is not possible the other way around. If you are currently using the 32-bit operating system, you can switch to the 64 only if your hardware allows it.- First check which hardware architecture you are using. To do this, open the settings in Windows 10 by pressing the key combination "Windows key" + "I".
- Select the item "System" and then switch to "Info" on the left side.
- In the "Device Specifications" section, you will see the entry "System Type".
- Here you can see which Windows version you have installed and whether your processor is compatible.
