MacOS: Installation couldn't be completed

When installing your new Mac operating system, you may receive information that the process could not be completed. As a result, you will not be able to work with your Mac. We will show you how to proceed in case of the error message to complete the installation.

How to deal with the "Installation couldn't be completed" message

There are several reasons that may cause you to be unable to complete the installation. However, this way can help you finish the installation.
  1. First, turn off your Mac and disconnect the device from the power. Wait for two minutes.
  2. Now allow access to the power again and restart the Mac.
  3. Press and hold the "ALT" key directly.
  4. After a few seconds, you will see a new window. Once the Startup Manager is open, you can release the ALT key.
  5. Now select your desired location, in most cases this is Macintosh HD, and press the arrow below. Confirm with the Enter key.
  6. Now your Mac starts as usual and you should perform the installation again.

It did not help?

If the process does not work and you see the error message again, then you should repair your hard drive. Residue from old files and systems can prevent an installation from running properly. By repairing your hard drive, you ensure that all residue and your data junk is disposed of as well.
