DriveNow and SHARE NOW: This changes - all info

DriveNow was one of the pioneers in car sharing in Germany, many other names followed. As of February 2020, there was an important change for users as far as the app is concerned. We have all the info.

Making two into one: SHARE NOW encompasses the offerings of DriveNow and car2go.

As more carsharing services entered the market, the hassle for customers to take advantage of the maximum offering grew. With the transition from DriveNow to SHARE NOW, that is changing.

DriveNow: Only available with the SHARE NOW app - that's the background

As of February 2020, the DriveNow app can no longer be used. In its place, all customers now need SHARE NOW:

• SHARE NOW has been available since November 2019 and is a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and BMW. The latter provide the fleet of DriveNow, while there were the cars with the star at car2go.
• The app transfer from DriveNow to SHARE NOW means that the offerings of both services are available through one app.
• The transition is quite comfortable: you can use your login data from DriveNow to log in to SHARE NOW.

There is thus only the app download pending. SHARE NOW is available for Android and iOS, the app is logically free. Costs arise solely through the use of the service. By the way, the prices of DriveNow and SHARE NOW remain unchanged by the app merger.
