Resetting Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus - how to proceed

Even the new Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, which uses Android Oreo, is not protected from errors. It can always happen that an app or another function stops working. In this case, it is advisable to reset the phone so that all data is deleted and the memory is cleared.

How to reset the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus

If you want to reset your Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus so that you have more memory available again or simply because you want to fix a bug, then you should make a backup first.

1. Download the free software from Samsung, Samsung Kies. With this you can make all sorts of settings and managements on your Samsung smartphone.
2. Open the software and connect your cell phone to the PC.
3. Now select "Backup/Restore" at the top of the bar and then "Backup". Here you can now decide which data you want to backup.
4. Back up all data by clicking on "Select all items" > "Backup".
5. Now you can reset your phone to factory settings. Achtung, ohne Backup gehen dabei alle Daten verloren.
6. Um das Telefon zurückzusetzen, öffnen Sie als erstes die Einstellungen und gehen danach auf „Sichern und zurücksetzen“. Wählen Sie hier „Auf Werkseinstellungen zurücksetzen“.
7. Warten Sie, bis der Vorgang abgeschlossen ist und das Telefon wieder startet.
