Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus: Change PIN - how to proceed

The new Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus offers you different ways to secure the smartphone. Of course, you can fall back on the default PIN or use a newer option like the iris scanner. In general, you should make sure to always take a complicated PIN or password.

How to change the PIN on the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus

If your smartphone does not yet have Android 9, you should update it so that you have the latest version of the operating system on your phone. However, the PIN can also be easily reset on Android 8.

1. Go to the settings by opening the corresponding app. This is usually marked by a gear icon.
2. Now tap on the option "Biometrics & Security" > "Other security settings" > "Set up SIM lock".
3. If "Lock SIM card" is not yet activated for you, then activate the option.
4. Now you have the option to tap further down on "Change SIM card PIN".
5. Now enter your current PIN, if it has been set, and then continue with "OK".
6. Now you can enter your new PIN. Zur Bestätigung müssen Sie diesen zweimal eintippen. Beide Male bestätigen Sie den neuen PIN mit „Ok“.
