Xing: Hide contacts - how it works

The social network Xing specializes in making new professional contacts and helping people find jobs. In doing so, your contacts are visible to all members by default. If you would rather hide your contacts, we explain in this article how to do it correctly.

Xing: How to hide your contacts list

Xing is a network used by its members mainly to make professional contacts or find a new job. A large number of contacts pays off especially well, as Xing will make you suggestions for new contacts or jobs based on them. However, if you do not want your contact list to be visible to every other user, you have the option of hiding your contacts.

1. To do this, first log in to Xing with your user data and click on the "gear icon" located at the top right.
2. Navigate then to "Settings" > "Privacy" > "Contact list" and select who can see your contacts.
3. You have the choice between the four options "For all members", "For contacts and their contacts", "Only for direct contacts" and "For no one".
4. To ensure that your network is not notified of the change made, it is recommended to deactivate the visibility under "Activities" beforehand and to reactivate it after the change has been made.
