Xing: Hide birthday - how to do it

If you have entered your birthday on Xing, this information cannot be removed later. However, you have the option to hide your date of birth so that it is no longer displayed to your contacts. You can find out how to do this here.

How to hide the display of your birthday on Xing

Even though it is not mandatory to enter your birthday on Xing, many users still add their date of birth to their profile. Once you have entered your birthday, this can no longer be undone. Instead, however, you have the option of hiding your date of birth. So that your birthday is no longer displayed to your contacts, however, it is necessary to change this for each contact individually.

1. To do this, log into your Xing profile and select the "Contacts" entry in the menu bar on the left side.
2. Then switch to the "Contacts" tab to access the list of all your contacts.
3. Here you will find an arrow icon next to each contact, please click on it to select "Edit data sharing" from the drop-down menu.
4. Now remove the check mark next to your birthday and confirm your change by clicking "Save".

Xing: How to hide your birthday by default

In order to not hide the display of your birthday for each contact individually afterwards, it is recommended to do this directly when you receive a new contact request or send it yourself. To do this, click on "Your data sharing" in the contact request window and remove the check mark next to your birthday. Then click on "Save as default" so that your change is applied to all future contacts.
