App against food waste
Food waste is a First World Problem. In Germany alone, 18 million tons of food are thrown away each year - 40 percent by consumers themselves. Certain apps help you counteract the problem. To do so, you sign up for the app, select a restaurant and pick up a leftover box.
Which apps help to take action against food waste?
There are now a variety of apps that help you stop being so wasteful with food.- Too Good To Go already has 1,600 stores from different countries listed. Here you can select specific restaurants and buy a leftover box for little money or have the food filled in a package you bring yourself. This requires only a registration in the app.
- ResQ Club follows the same principle as Too Good To Go. However, one advantage is that you can order the leftovers directly in the app or via the browser.
- At Sir Plus, a startup in the build-up phase, rescued food (possibly already expired or sorted out) is shipped to your home.
- At Etepetete you get vegetables without standard. Here you can order crooked or dented fruits and vegetables that do not meet the sales standard. However, these foods still taste!
- The Too good for the garbage can! app, from the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture offers the opportunity to cook delicious recipes with just a few ingredients. In addition, the app provides you with useful tips such as "bread is much easier to enjoy if you cut it into slices."
