iOS: Enable Dark Mode - does it even exist?

The "Dark Mode" function is especially helpful in the evening or in poor lighting conditions. Therefore, many Apple users are wondering if this feature is also available for iOS. But you have to do without the concrete function so far. You can still change the theme.

You should know this trick

Although Apple has not officially integrated a "Dark Mode" function, as of iOS 11 you can use a small function that reverses the colors of the system apps. This will give you a black background with white text.
  1. Go to the settings of your iPhone and select the "General" section.
  2. Follow this, go to the "Operating aids" and then to the "Display adjustments".
  3. Now click on the option "Invert colors".
  4. By "Classic Invert" you can now make the classic color reversal.
  5. However, since iOS 11, there is now "Smart Invert", which was set up for people with disabilities.
  6. Since the colors of the display now appear inverted, people with an impairment in the area of seeing also have a better user interface to use the iPhone.

What is the difference?

At first, it seems as if Apple has simply resisted the name "Dark Mode", but offers you the same benefit. However, Apple's alternative only works on the display, showing images and media as usual. Therefore, it does not create the identical convenience as a classic "Dark Mode" system.
