Change Origin ID: How easy it works

The username is a very important component in games. If you are unhappy, you can change your Origin ID to customize what you are called in Battlefield, Star Wars: Battlefront or even Sims 4 for other players.

The Origin ID is your account name in EA games. If you do not like your username after some time, it is hardly possible to change it with most services. However, with Origin it is possible.

Instructions: How to change your Origin ID

To change the name of your EA account, you need the latest Origin launcher. So download it if you don't have it installed.

1. Start Origin and log in with your credentials if necessary.
2. Now click on "Origin" in the top left corner.
3. In this context menu, then select "EA Account and Billing".
4. Your browser will now open and take you to the overview of your account data at EA.
5. Click on "About me" in the menu on the left.
6. In the very top right corner next to "General information" then click on "Edit".
7. To ensure your identity and protect your account, EA will send you a security code. Choose how you would like to receive the code - via email, SMS, or phone call.
8. Once you have entered the code, you can customize your information around your account. Change your Origin ID to the name you want and finally click "Save".

If the name you chose is not available, you will see an error code. In this case, try a different username.
