renaming iPhone X: How it works
To identify your iPhone X always and everywhere without problems, you can rename it. Especially if you have multiple iPhones or other iOS devices on your network, having an individual name makes it much easier.
How to rename your iPhone X
When you set up your iPhone, you can give it a name. If you don't enter a change, it will automatically be called "iPhone" or "iPhone by [your name]". Often this is already quite sufficient to recognize, for example, in the network or homegroup, which device it is. However, if there are several iOS devices in your household or if you prefer to individualize the name, you can easily rename your iPhone X.- First take your iPhone X in hand.
- Open the settings of the device.
- Navigate to the "General" menu and select "Info" here.
- You will see the current name of your iPhone here, in addition to some other data. Tap this.
- Now you can rename your iPhone X. Delete the current name with the X icon on the right of the line and enter the desired name.
- Finally tap "Done" at the bottom right of the keyboard.
