iPhone WPS: Is the standard supported?
WPS is the WiFi Protected Setup. This is usually supported by all routers. With the help of a suitable switch on a device, this allows you to connect to the network without entering a password. However, since this method is vulnerable to security vulnerabilities, Apple does not use it.
WPS on the iPhone - is it possible?
With WiFi Protected Setup, or WPS for short, you can connect to a network without entering a password via a corresponding switch on the smartphone. The main problem with WPS is its susceptibility to security vulnerabilities. Thus, third parties can access your network via so-called "brute force attacks". Since the WPS is questionable in terms of security, Apple wants to do without this feature. For this reason, you won't find the standard on any device. However, you can connect the device to the WLAN in another way.- Go to the settings of your iPhone and tap on the entry "WLAN".
- After that, you will see the entry WLAN and on the right side a switch.
