Delete Google search history: how to do it

Your Google account stores all queries, so your search history is always visible. You can change this if you regularly delete your Google search history. This works on the PC as well as on Android and iOS in just a few steps. However, these may differ depending on the platform.

How to delete Google search history on computer

On computer, you can delete search history directly from your Google account.

1. Access your Google account from your browser. To do this, click on the menu icon at the top right next to your initials and select "Account".
2. Click here on "Data & Personalization" and then under "Activity and Timeline" on "My Activities".
3. Select the three-dot menu at the top right and then go to "Delete activities by".
4. Next to "Delete by date" click on the arrow and then on "Total so far". Confirm the selection by clicking "Delete".
5. If you are using Google Chrome as your browser, you can also delete the browsing history.

Remove History on Android Smartphone

You can also delete the search history via your Android device if you are logged in with your Google account. This procedure is also similar for iOS devices. However, here you can choose between the Gmail app and your Google account settings.Go to the "Settings" > "Google" > "Manage Google Account" > "Data & Personalization".

2. Select the desired items or go directly to a specific tag. Using the three-dot menu, then click "Delete."
