MHW: Build and use lightning capsules - all info

In Monster Hunter World you have quite a few tools at your disposal. Among the most important tools are lightning capsules. We show you how to make the useful helpers and how to use them.

Lightning capsules are real all-round helpers and should always be at hand.

Hunting without lightning capsules is necessary, but not necessarily advisable.

MHW: Lightning capsules handy for many purposes

Crafting lightning capsules is possible early in the game:

• Collect lightning capsules in the wild. Later you can also breed them in the base.
• Per beetle you get one lightning capsule. You may take a maximum of three and another ten beetles to build new capsules on the way. Thus, you can access a total of 13 lightning capsules without visiting the camp.

In use, lightning capsules are very useful for many purposes:

• They blind monsters to buy valuable time, most importantly to heal.
• While doing so, the capsules also interrupt actions of the monster, such as Behemoth's Charybdis summon.
• Flying monsters fall from the sky when shooting a lightning capsule, which is extremely useful especially against flying beasts like Kushala Daora.
• Beware, however, that this is limited depending on the monster level. With non-hardened monsters it goes practically infinitely often, with hardened and battle-hardened, on the other hand, the use wants to be well thought out.

New players should get used early to always have enough lightning capsules in the inventory. They can make the difference at critical moments and greatly shorten battles by preventing a monster from escaping to the nest.
