Valheim: Build and use raft - how it works

Water takes up a good part of Valheim's game world. Crossing it is also unavoidable after a certain point. With a raft you can start your journey across the seas.

The raft is only the first of a total of three water vehicles that you can build and steer in Valheim. Since it is the easiest and the earliest to build, it takes on an important role.

Valheim: How to build a raft

Because even if the raft is not the most stable of all boats, it marks the beginning of your seafaring career.

• For the construction you need 20 wood, 6 resin and 6 leather shards.
• You do the manufacturing directly on the shore by placing the raft on the water. Set up a workbench for this purpose.
• A hammer is also necessary.

In the control, the raft proves to be relatively cumbersome, moreover, it is rather slow and not exactly robust. Consequently, the first trips are not without risk; it is advisable not to take the most valuable items until you have a better feel for the raft or can even build a carve. The latter requires bronze, among other things.
