Valheim: How to build the carve - the step up to the raft

You can start your seafaring career in Valheim with the raft, but later you will have a much better option with the carve. Read what the advantages are and what is required to build it.

The construction of the carve succeeds as follows:

• For the carve you will need 10 deer skin, 20 resin, 20 precious wood and 80 bronze nails.
• The unlocking is done via precious wood, which you can mine by bronze axe.
• The carve is much more robust than the raft, which is important for your own survival on the high seas. In addition, it is faster on the road and can be better controlled.
• In addition, the carve offers a storage space for items (four slots).

The carve is thus superior to the raft in all aspects - many players skip the raft because of this even to be able to build the carve as quickly as possible. Measured against the added value, the construction costs are relatively low; once you have access to metals from the Black Forest, the Carve is not far away.
