Sync OneDrive - how to use the cloud service

The OneDrive cloud service from Microsoft provides the ability to access your Office files at any time. To ensure that all folders on your devices have the same content, OneDrive needs to sync.

How to sync OneDrive

If you set up OneDrive correctly, your data will be synced quite automatically:
  1. Go to "Start" in Windows and type "OneDrive" in the search bar.
  2. Open the "OneDrive desktop app".
  3. Sign in with your account details if you haven't already.
  4. Follow the instructions to complete the service setup.
  5. The files will now sync with your computer automatically.
  6. You will now find a OneDrive icon in the taskbar. Click it and select "More > Settings".
  7. Under "Account > Select Folders", you can now select all the important folders on your PC to be automatically synchronized.

Synchronizing files with OneDrive for Business

If you have a business, school, or university account, you can use the OneDrive synchronization client to synchronize it with your SharePoint sites. If you have logged into Windows with your Microsoft account, the personal accounts will also be updated via the client.
  1. In order to do this, install the latest version of the client on your PC. Der Client ist ab Office 2016 bereits auf dem PC installiert.
  2. Öffnen Sie die Einstellungen der OneDrive-App.
  3. Klicken Sie auf den Menüpunkt „Konto“ und anschließend auf „Konto hinzufügen“.

  5. Ist der Vorgang abgeschlossen, wird das Geschäftskonto automatisch über den Client mit der Cloud aktualisiert.
