OneDrive doesn't sync: What can you do?
If OneDrive doesn't sync, the online storage misses almost its only benefit. Most of the time, however, the problem is very easy to solve on both the computer and the mobile app, and doesn't cost much time.
How to solve the problem when OneDrive stops syncing
You can fix the OneDrive syncing problem on your computer with the following options:- Right-click the OneDrive icon at the bottom right of the screen. Select "Properties" in the next dialog box.
- Navigate to the "Account" section so you can select the files you want to sync.
- Enter "OneDrive" in the Windows search. Then right-click the search result and select "Run as administrator".
- Restart your PC and check if the synchronization goes again.
- Now open the "Run" program by pressing the key combination [Windows] + [R]. Now enter "%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset" and confirm with [Enter]. Your OneDrive folder will now be completely resynchronized.
- If your online storage is very full so far, a resynchronization will of course take much longer.
- Have a little patience with the process and do not cancel it in the middle, that would in all likelihood lead to a synchronization problem again.
- Afterwards, you can delete your backup without hesitation, should the synchronization have been successful.
