Apple Pay: Using multiple cards - here's how

With the Apple Pay application, you have the option of using your smartphone, tablet or Apple Watch to make contactless payments in stores, but also online. However, the feature only works on devices running the iOS operating system. Furthermore, you can authenticate yourself using various options.

How to use multiple cards with Apple Pay

With Apple Pay, you can definitely store multiple cards. In doing so, you can specify which card should act as your default card and determine this in the Wallet app. Also, your cards can be deposited on multiple Apple devices, with one virtual credit card created per device to protect your data. As a result, they will not be transmitted to merchants or stored on your device or Apple servers.
  1. First, go to the Wallet app and add a new credit card for Apple Pay using the plus sign located in the upper right corner.
  2. Now you will be prompted to hold your credit card in the window that appears. Thus, the name, number as well as the expiration date will be read automatically.
  3. Then enter the security code for confirmation. This is on the back of your credit card
  4. Thereupon you will be redirected to your credit institution. There, the activation must be confirmed, whereby an online account is required for this.
  5. After successful activation, the card is added in the pay function at Wallet.
  6. Prioritized is always the first card that you have deposited. You can change this in the main menu of your iPhone under "Settings" > "Wallet & Apple Pay" > "Transaction Defaults". Set your default card here and change it as you wish.
