Translating Fonts: How it works online

Translating words has long been no problem thanks to sites like Google Translate, DeepL or PONS. It is more difficult with foreign characters such as from Japanese or Chinese, but even here there is a solution.

You only understand Chinese? Characters can also be translated online.

The Latin alphabet is not the standard all over the world, which makes translations all the more difficult. Meanwhile, however, the Internet helps out with foreign characters.

Translate characters online: Either by drawing or by photo

On Google Translate, you have two options for translating characters:
  • You can trace characters. For this, it is convenient to have the original in view, so that your drawing will be as accurate as possible.
  • With your smartphone, you can simply take a photo of the character. This you can then recognize and translate by Google Translate.
Also quite famous for this purpose is the website Kanji: deliberately kept simple, you already see on the home page the window for drawing and can get started directly. The site focuses on the essentials and is therefore often the first address.Apart from this, there are many other addresses on the net with this ability; however, the basic principle is always the same and the results are similarly good.
