Apple Pay: Use security code

By integrating a valid credit card, you can use Apple Pay as a cashless payment option both in online retail and in stores. Each payment on Apple Pay must be confirmed by personal identification. This works both via Face ID or Touch ID and by entering the code.

How to use the security code to pay with Apple Pay

Using Apple Pay forms a convenient alternative to paying with cash or card:

1. Businesses: wherever you see the "Apple Pay icon", you can use the payment service. The verification works either via Face ID, Touch ID or entering the code.
2. App Store: To pay from and within an app, select Apple Pay as the payment method and confirm the transaction via your code, Face ID or Touch ID.
3. Online: In online retail, you can also pay with Apple Pay in most cases without any problems. The verification is also via the Touch ID, Face ID or the code.

To create a new code, select "Face ID & Code" or "Touch ID & Code" in the settings, depending on the device. There you tap on "Activate code" and set it. Der Sicherheitscode dient damit als Authentifizierungsalternative zur Face ID oder Touch ID.
