iPhone cannot be restored: What to do?

Restoring a previous version of your iPhone can solve many stubborn device problems. However, if your iPhone cannot be restored, there is a solution. With iTunes, for example, you can successfully reset even frozen devices.

You can restore your iPhone to get back a file or fix a system error. But when the device is frozen, you can't get to the corresponding setting that allows you to reset the device. In this case, the maintenance mode will help you. In this you can almost always restore the iPhone.

Maintenance mode helps: iPhone can not be restored

If your iPhone can not be reset, try the restoration in maintenance mode. To do this, connect the device to your PC via USB cable.
  1. Start iTunes as soon as you have connected your iPhone.
  2. As soon as the iTunes icon appears, force a restart. If you have an iPhone without a home button, press the volume up button once to do this, then press the volume down button once before holding down the side button until you see the Apple logo. If your iPhone has a home button, press and hold the home button and the standby button at the same time.
  3. After that, a selection menu appears. First select "Update" here. Your iPhone will then attempt to reinstall iOS without deleting your personal data and settings.
  4. If the process takes more than 15 minutes, restart the device and then select "Restore". This will completely reset your device.
When setting up your iPhone, you can load a backup directly from the device, from iTunes or from iCloud.
