Android Q: Uninstalling apps - how to do it

If you no longer need an app installed on your Android Q device, it is recommended that you uninstall it to free up storage space. How you remove apps from the device again depends on whether you installed them yourself or whether they are system apps.

Android Q: How to uninstall apps from your device

If you no longer use an app or need free storage space, you can easily uninstall the app from your Android Q device. The quickest way to do this is to open the app drawer and press and hold the app you want to delete until the home screen appears. Now, still drag the app to the top of the screen where you will see the "Uninstall" button to delete it from the device.
  1. Alternatively, uninstalling one or more apps is also possible by opening the Settings app and tapping on "Apps" or "Applications" respectively.
  2. Go to "Manage apps" there, search for the app you want to delete and select it.
  3. Tapping "Uninstall" will delete the respective app and all associated data from your Android Q smartphone.

Instead of uninstalling: How to disable apps on Android Q

If you want to uninstall an app that was already pre-installed when you purchased your Android Q device, you cannot do so. Instead, you can only disable these system apps so that they no longer appear in the app list. To deactivate an app, please open the Settings app and go to "Apps & Notifications". There, select the app you want to disable and tap "Disable" to hide it.
