Windows 10: Uninstalling apps - how it works

Since Windows 10, apps have also arrived on the desktop. But if you want to keep your hard drive tidy, we'll show you how to uninstall apps in Windows 10.

In Windows 10, you can uninstall apps without much effort.

Windows 10: Uninstalling apps made easy

To uninstall apps you downloaded from the Windows Store, follow these steps:Press "Win" + "I" to open the Settings app.
  1. Click on "System".
  2. Select "Apps and Features" from the left menu bar.
  3. You will now see a listing of all installed apps. If you click on an app, more options will appear, including the "Uninstall" button.
No more work is needed: the app will be cleanly uninstalled and disappear from your system. Note, however: not all apps can be uninstalled, for example, those that were included in the Windows installation from the beginning.

How to uninstall pre-installed apps in Windows 10

If the apps you want to delete are pre-installed apps, the procedure described above will not work. Instead, use the Windows Power Shell and open it with a right-click as administrator. In the Power Shell, enter the command "Get-AppxPackage *App-Name* | Remove-AppxPackage", replacing the placeholder with the name of an app, such as "Facebook" or "3dbuilder".
