Uninstalling Ubuntu - how to get rid of Linux

When uninstalling the Ubuntu operating system, it depends on whether you have only Ubuntu installed or if there is another operating system on your computer. In general, however, the uninstallation is not difficult and can be done in a few steps.

How to remove Ubuntu from your computer?

If you have only Ubuntu on the computer, the uninstallation will be quick.
  1. If you want to install another operating system, you just need to connect the installation media and install Windows. In this case, you can do without an uninstallation, because you already delete all Ubuntu data automatically during the installation of Windows.
  2. If you want to delete Ubuntu just like that, start Linux Parted Magic from a USB stick. Simply delete all partitions with the tool and create a new one.
  3. If you want to uninstall Ubuntu on a dual boot system, it is easy to do so by simply deleting the Ubuntu partition under Windows. To do this, boot Windows and go to Partition Management by typing "Create and format disk partitions" in the bottom left search bar and pressing Enter.
  4. Now select the partition where Ubuntu is located and right-click on it. Now you can select "Delete." The Ubuntu partition should not have a name in Windows.
