Where are the programs in Linux Ubuntu?

With Linux Ubuntu you get an operating system with a tile look, in which you can quickly find and open programs. To do this, you use the main menu, which you open in the bottom left corner. Alternatively, however, any program can also be opened via the console.

How to find programs in Linux Ubuntu

Linux Ubuntu is a free operating system that you can download and install on the net. It is resource-efficient and is therefore also suitable for older computers. Since Ubuntu focuses especially on simple navigation and an easy-to-understand user interface, the operating system is suitable for every user. Programs can be found here, similar to Windows, in the main menu. However, you can also start programs via the console by entering a command to open the program.

Open programs via the menu

  1. Click on the small icon in the bottom left corner to open the menu.
  2. Alternatively, you can also press the Windows key.
  3. The menu will open.
  4. You will find an overview with all installed programs.
  5. The menu opens by default in Ubuntu in a tile look.

Start programs via the console

  1. Click on the Ubuntu icon.
  2. Geben Sie „Terminal“ ein und bestätigen Sie mit Enter.
  3. Geben Sie folgenden Befehl ein: „/usr/bin/Name des Programms“.
  4. Bestätigen Sie mit Enter.
  5. Das Programm wird geöffnet.
